Where our tea begins
High in the mountains of Nepal, surrounded by hills, forests, and changing mountain skies, our tea garden grows at approximately 6,300 to 6,800 feet above sea level. This is where the story of Curling Tea begins.
At this altitude, the climate is cooler and the tea grows more slowly. Time becomes part of the process. The leaves develop gradually, taking on the character of the mountain landscape around them. We believe that this sense of place can be felt in the tea.
A garden we can call our own
Our connection to the tea is different because the garden is ours. We are not simply selecting tea from a distant supplier. We grow the leaves ourselves and produce them in our own factory in Nepal. That gives us a close relationship with every stage of the journey — from the tea plant and the first young leaf to the finished tea.
It also gives us something we value deeply: responsibility for the origin of our tea. We care about how the land is cultivated, how the leaves are handled and how the tea ultimately represents the place from which it comes.
Life beyond 6000 feet
There is a certain rhythm to life in the mountains. The seasons change. The weather changes. The garden changes with them. Tea grows according to nature's pace, and we work with that rhythm rather than trying to rush it. This is part of what makes our tea special to us.
It is not simply tea from Nepal. It is tea from a particular mountain, a particular garden and a particular place.
From our garden to your cup
From the high hills of Nepal, the leaves begin a journey that eventually brings them to Europe. We want that journey to preserve something of where the tea began — the altitude, the landscape, the people and the care behind every leaf.
Our garden is the beginning. The cup is where the journey continues.
